Girls and Boys basketball is off to a strong start for the 2019-2020 season! Varsity girls are 2-3, led by high scorers Kate Dawson and Katie Rudow, with big wins over Calvary and Trinity Prep last night. Boys Varsity is 4-1 with Noah Reardon and Jayden Williams leading the way in points and rebounds. Both teams will be back in action next week: Girls Varsity with a 5:30 game at Warner on the 17th, and Boys JV and Varsity with 6:00 and 7:30 games at Winter Park on Friday the 20th.

We are proud of our Lady Griffins as they are honored with another Orlando Sentinel highlight for team of the year, ranked No. 1 in the final Sentinel Super Six rankings. After entering the Class 1A state tournament as a slight underdog to TFA, they shot rounds of 287 and 288 for a 1-under-par 575 total that beat the Royals (287-292—582) by 7 shots. Honored as “All Area Players” were Karoline Tuttle, Ellen Dong, Xinyi Wang, and listed as second team was Victoria Zheng. Congrats again ladies!

Brooks on to the Pros

11/7/19 – LMP alum and UF golfer Sierra Brooks is leaving the Gators before her senior season is completed to play on the Symetra Tour in 2020 Brooks finished as the runner-up at the 2019 NCAA Championships, the Gators’ first medalist at the event since 2003, and will become the latest women’s golfer from UF to turn pro. Joining past Gators Karolina Vlckova (2013-17), Samantha Wagner (2015-17) and Anna Young (2012-15) on the Symetra circuit, she will hopefully follow UF stars Sandra Gal (2004-07) and Maria Torres (2013-17) on the LPGA Tour.
